Robin L. Wiessmann

Robin Wiessmann is a financial services executive and investment banker who, prior to her corporate board appointments, was the State Treasurer of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2009. As Treasurer, Robin served as the primary fiduciary and custodian of $120 billion and created a new governance framework, improved institutional investing standards and risk management, and principles-based governance and management practices. Robin reallocated the Commonwealth’s assets and saved Pennsylvania over $1 billion as a result of her newly established business practices.
Before her term as State Treasurer, Robin was the Founder and President of Artemis Capital Group, the first women-owned investment banking firm on Wall Street. From its growth in 1990 through its acquisition by RBC Dain Rauscher in 1999, she managed nearly $100 billion in public finance transactions and successfully expanded Artemis’ business into new national marketplaces. In the final six years of Artemis’ independent operation, Robin led the firm to a position of prominence in municipal underwriting, where as one of the nation’s top ten with regard to deal volume, it actively competed against ‘bulge bracket’ national and international banking firms.
Prior to founding Artemis, Robin was a vice president at Goldman Sachs, where she managed business development for the Mid-Atlantic region, and executed financing transactions nationwide.
In addition to her executive positions, Robin is and has been active on a variety of corporate boards. Robin currently serves as the Chair of the Nominating and Governance committee on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, which is responsible for regulating the municipal marketplace. Robin also serves on the board of Lumesis, a cloud-based financial technology company that provides fixed income solutions. She is also on the Board of Visitors at the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy.
Additionally, Robin recently served as chair of the Compensation and Management Committee of Met-Pro Corporation (NYSE: MPR), where she was actively engaged in its recent premium acquisition by CECO Environmental (NASDAQ: CECE). Robin recently completed two terms as Chairman of the Vantagepoint Funds Mutual Fund, a 40 Act mutual fund company with $16 billion under management. She was instrumental in creating the fund over 12 years ago and served as a director since its creation.
Robin graduated cum laude from Lafayette College and received her law degree from Rutgers University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania bar.
